The weekend

I'm tired, hung over, watching crap telly and very pleased that it's Saturday not Sunday. Spent last night in Camden participating in a pub crawl in honour of a friend's 25th birthday. It was fun, rather militant in places and lovely to catch up with some friends that I haven't seen for ages. Ended up walking home in the rain at 5.30 this morning and sleeping until 3pm.

Will write some more when I get a chance; still using other computers whenever I can, rather than just having one to use whenever I please, so postings will be short and sweet for the time being. Am using all my free internet time to search for accommodation in Marrakech. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Militant?

Militant as in sticking to a timetable of places and drinking allowance and providing 5 minutes warnings everytime we were due to move on.

Ah. Thought you meant militant people.

No! Just militantly sticking to a timetable for the first few hours of the evening.

Right. At my age I prefer a long slow drink in the same venue. Still, we were all young once.

That's right, each to their own. Although sometimes it's good to do something a little different, especially when it is in celebration of a birthday.

Long time since I went in any pubs in Camden. I remember The Elephant's Head on the corner, The Good Mixer, where Blur used to hang out, The Lock Tavern, The Monarch, a big Wetherspoon's whose name I can't remember ...

We sometimes go to the Lock Tavern but our pub crawl took in The Crown & Goose, The Earl & Eagle, 55, Hawley Arms and a cuban bar near Gilgamesh in Camden Market. Apart from the Hawley Arms we don't usually go to the pub in Camden. We sometimes go to Barfly or KoKo to watch bands or Marathon Bar but if we drink locally we usually stay in Primrose Hill.

I take it anon that you don't live in Camden anymore?

The Hawley Arms used to be dreadful, but I guess it's changed. No, I live in Glasgow, so you're alright!

Would you believe that the Hawley Arms is now one of Kelly Osbourne, Amy Winehouse & Sadie Frost's hangouts. My neighbours were in their on Sunday and chatted to all three, as well as Razorlight.

Glasgow. Never been to Glasgow. Is it snowing?

It snowed heavily last Thursday but didn't settle. Clear and VERY cold at present. Glasgow's a good city and very laid back compared to London.
